I have been inspired by the homeless events in MANY ways but one in particular is the 'change' in my coworkers. I would post our events on FB and kinda mention it at work and got a few donations here and there but through pictures of our events and acknowledging the donations, its crazy now! People saying "Hey I have 5 cases of water to donate" or "Here's $20 and I have a bag of clothes" or from across the pit I'll hear someone yell my name and say "Hey Kerrie I have some bags of clothes and shoes for you. I'll give them to you on break!" And from that, the sale of the OTL magnets started because they saw mine and believe in what this stands for so they wanted their own! So even though this isn't a short version, I guess to sum it up would be to say "Giving from your heart genuinely and generously is ABSOLUTELY CONTAGIOUS"!!! :-) ~Kerrie Shaw
Showing and encouraging just one person that they are LOVed and RESpected, no matter their circumstances, can be especially fullfilling to both parties. ONe TRUe LOVe is a group of people who's LOVe goes out to everyone, opening doors and eyes to the world beyond the rose colored glasses we often hide behind. It IS very humbling.The homeless were so appreciative that they made me feel like I made a difference. So...it matters. It matters to them!! Having done it twice, I am very thankful and blessed that we have a roof over our heads. One never knows what tomorrow holds. We only have today.This is a good thing!! My part was filmed a year ago. My brother was lying in the hospital in a coma, and I didn't know if he would ever wake up. It was my first night back in class, energy anatomy. When I was asked what love was, all I could feel was that polari...ty between pure bliss and complete suffering. That experience changed my life. I had no idea I could feel anything so deeply, that life could be so real. After everything id gone through in this lifetime, in that moment against a wall in the hallways of swiha I felt what love was for me in that moment like nothing I had ever felt before. The darker the shadow the greater the light. When I see myself now, a year later really being in that space, I am brought to tears. Its hard to explain how it feels to see that. Completely naked, honest, fearless. Thank you krys.... for capturing that true essence of me, frozen in time. Thank you for exposing all sides of love. Because that is our purpose. ~Liz Dose
